Who Owns America’s Debt? – Bob Pollin Pt. 2/2
In part 2, Bob Pollin, economist and Co-Director of the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI), lays out policies to increase workers’ wages and bargaining power and bring down the price of food items such as eggs. He tackles the issue of U.S. government debt, as well as fiscal conservative and MAGA Republican claims that China owns most of this debt. These falsehoods deflect from Trump’s massive tax cuts for the rich and his high military expenditure, which ran up U.S. debt far more than under the Biden administration. Pollin asserts the best way to reduce high-interest payments on U.S. debt and support social services is to increase government revenue via capital gains and income taxes.

U.S., Israel, and a Lawless New World Order – Nader Hashemi
Israel struck Iran — but could this war set off something far more dangerous?
Middle East scholar Nader Hashemi joins Paul Jay to break down what’s really behind the so-called ’12-Day War.’ Far from a clean victory, Hashemi warns the strikes have likely strengthened Iran’s hardliners, accelerated the push toward nuclear weapons, and crushed the country’s democratic opposition. But this may not be a simple case of Western overreach — it may reflect a deep strategic split between the U.S. and Israel.
As Jay argues, Trump may be seeking to normalize relations with Iran, not to promote democracy, but to pry Tehran away from China and regain leverage in the great power rivalry — especially with most of Iran’s oil flowing to Beijing. Israel, on the other hand, appears willing to risk regional chaos to achieve regime change and eliminate its last major regional adversary.
What’s lost in the Western media narrative is the reality that the Iranian people — not the regime — are paying the price. And what’s collapsing before our eyes is not just diplomacy but the very idea of a rules-based international order.
This war may be just beginning — and its consequences could reshape the global balance of power.

Brazil’s president Bolsonaro continues to deny the Covid crisis, as Lula’s return to politics creates shockwaves from the favelas to Wall St.
Feigning Mad Ave. hucksterism satirically to illustrate political perfidy. Rings with the lies and misrepresentation of the right wing. Thanks.
I would share this effective satire on Facebook if the obscenities and profanities were not present. Do you really feel that they are necessary? I think they mar the presentation.
They have a G rated version as well….
Ahhh, but it’s disappointing that Juice’s biting sarcasm is only directed at the Trump administration here. Members of Congress of both parties are complicit! None of them give a damn (and that applies to sheepdog Bernie, too!) about the American people today. They want us dead if we aren’t generating sufficient profits for them. When are We the People going to wake up and understand this? We truly do deserve the government we get.
Brilliant……….show more of these!
A pretty woman saying shxt I do not find clever.
A shame you didn’t understand the rest.
I don’t understand what ‘rest’ wasn’t understood by ‘whom’? Please explain 🤔
Bold and brilliant!
